About Us
RideOn Portland is a not-for profit organization established by a couple of Portland guys who are probably a lot like you. After years of enjoying Portland's nightlife, long-time friends Scott Conger and Joshua Bernard had an idea: A service that made it easier to go out, have fun, and get home safely, with your own car! No tickets, no towing, no worries. Soon thereafter, Scott and Joshua had turned their idea into a small business called Meteor, which dispatched drivers on folding scooters to the aid of intoxicated denizens around Portland three nights a week. In its first year (2004), Meteor safely delivered home more than 500 people and their cars. And then they shut it down. Why? Because they realized just how important their service was for the community. And that in order to make it even more effective and accessible (inexpensive!), they needed to relaunch it as a not-for-profit organization. Which they did. The end result? RideOn. It's a 501(c)(3) non-profit. And it'll get you home safe - with your car - for only $10.
